Position Summary: 

Location: Gaithersburg, MD

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will be managing several efforts that include infrastructure components supporting Data Analytics Solutions (Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Enterprise Information Management, Big Data Analytics, Data Science, etc.), with an emerging emphasis on delivering Big Data solutions.  Specifically and primarily, they will be tasked to support three urgent needs.   

• Driving discipline partner (customer) adoption of newly built cloud solution where success is measured by commencement of migration to the cloud solution and away from legacy solution. Help customers develop and execute against migration plans. 

• Increasing environment stability as measured by a reduction in incidents, faster resolution of incidents, faster resolution of product defect tickets, improved system performance, etc.  This will require work with several support teams, customer, and other internal groups to address product requirements and resolve customer issues.  In addition, develop monitoring rules and implement key monitoring indexes to measure the capacity, performance, and utilization of environment.  

• Supporting definition and implementation of next generation cloud solution with 2016 deliverable date. The candidate will have hands-on experience supporting data analytics solutions, such as IBM’s BigInsights, Netezza and Cognos products operating in a large, complex organization. The candidate will have performed in various SDLC roles (architectural, engineering, or operational) working with data analytics solutions. 

The candidate will be working with technical experts, service providers, and leadership at all levels to drive success.  Candidate will be required to understand and articulate existing legacy cloud solution after appropriate orientation.  

Education:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equal experience 

Skills and Experience:  

• 7+ years of experience working in or supporting a fast-pace development and operational environment 

• 5+ years of experience in delivering Data Analytics and Reporting infrastructure using technology such as BigInsights, Netezza, NoSQL, Informatica, Couchbase, Hadoop, Cognos, Tableau Actuate, OnDemand, etc. 

• A demonstrable mastery of data analytic concepts and the ability to articulate these concepts to technical and non-technical audiences 

• Understanding of cloud virtualization technologies 

• Strong understanding of service management concepts (ITIL) 

• Solid data center and/or cloud operations expertise 

• Ability to develop new approaches to complex infrastructure design problems  

• Strong ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus 

• Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills
