Position Summary: 

Location: Reston, VA

This test engineer needs to have strong experiences in testing a large scale data warehouse that aggregates data from a large number of data sources, strong data analysis skills and ETL testing capability, also hands on automation scripting experience. The candidate should have strong experience on Java based application testing, with basic Java programming or Java scripting skillset. This person should be dependable individual with a proven track record of strong results. The candidate should be able to develop and implement test cases for large/small projects independently. This role will demand strong working relationships and interactions with dev/test/pm and cross group collaboration with other groups and products. The candidate will have the unique opportunity to influence our product and business strategy by synthesizing business/customer needs, and delivering both strategic and tactical recommendations. Hands on automation experience is required. The resource should be able to create, build and maintain an automation framework, as well as a strong data testing skillset.  

Education:

• 1 – 2 years’ work experience in customer services support or having equivalent experience. 

• BS/BA in Business Administration, training and on-the-job experience is preferred. 

Required Skills:  

• 5+ years of Oracle experience 

• 5+ years of Data Warehouse (i.e. Informatica, Ab Initio) solution experience including strong SQL skills 

• 2+ years of web service testing experience/ SoapUI experience 

• 2+ years of Java programming/Java scripting 

• Detailed Data warehouse testing knowledge including experience writing complex SQL, ETLs and BI.  

• A proven ability to collaborate well with cross functional groups and virtual teams to effectively solve technical challenges. 

• Effective problem solving and analytical skills 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• Good understanding of BI business models
